JAM O. SABANDAL
Jam O. Sabandal is a member of Earth Materials Science Laboratories and Project Technical Assistant II for the DOST-PCIEERD funded Project "SoPIA: Software for Petrographic Image Analysis for Concrete Petrography".
Ms. Sabandal completed her undergraduate studies from the National Institute of Geological Sciences with a degree of BS Geology in 2018 and acquired her professional license in the same year. Before joining the team, she worked as an instructor at Partido State University in Camarines Sur from 2020 to 2023. Driven by her passion for geology and having a keen interest in machine learning and geologic field mapping, she aspires to pursue graduate studies on artificial intelligence in geosciences. She believes that the emerging field of machine learning/artificial intelligence has the potential to revolutionize the more traditional practices in geosciences. She hopes to master data analysis, machine learning, geostatistics, data mining, predictive modeling, and decision-making processes that are necessary to become a proficient AI specialist in the field of geology.Â
She plans to explore career/graduate opportunities in more technologically advanced countries and hopes to incorporate her amassed knowledge and experience in helping the Philippines be globally competitive in the field of geosciences.
