Anne Magdalene T. Ignacio is a licensed geologist and a graduate of Mapúa University with a Bachelor of Science in Geology. Her professional background encompasses geological fieldwork, mineral and rock identification, geologic mapping, geospatial analysis, and technical reporting. She has experience in mineral exploration, core logging, and GIS-based resource assessment, as well as hydrological studies involving flood mitigation and groundwater vulnerability assessment.
She currently works at the EMS-Concrete Petrography Laboratory, where she contributes to the petrographic examination and assessment of construction materials. She also works under the UP Resilience Institute - NOAH Hazard Assessment Team for the project “Urgent Building Assessment of Critical Government Facilities Using Concrete Petrography.” Prior to her current role, she gained international research experience as a hydrology intern at National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan, where she worked on urban drainage system simulations and flood mitigation strategies in Chiayi City. Her work involved refining hydraulic models using Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA) and EPA-Storm Water Management Model (SWMM).
Her multidisciplinary background in geology, geospatial technologies, and hydrology informs her approach to materials characterization and geological investigations. She is proficient in GIS platforms such as MapInfo Pro, QGIS, and ArcGIS, and has experience in geological data management and technical writing.
