JEJOMAR Y. DERECHO

Jejomar Y. Derecho is a member of the Earth Materials Science Laboratory. He holds the position of Project Technical Assistant V for the DOST-PCIEERD funded project called "SoPIA: Software for Petrographic Image Analysis for Concrete Petrography." His area of expertise lies in data science, computer vision, and machine intelligence. 

As of the moment, Jejomar is doing his Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of the Philippines-Diliman—recognizing the importance of a solid educational foundation for professional growth. He completed his undergraduate studies in Applied Physics, majoring in instrumentation physics, at the National Institute of Physics UP Diliman. During his undergraduate years, Jejomar’s interest in data science was sparked through his research work on complex systems. Over time, he has accumulated experience in data science across various industries, including finance, healthcare, weather, and fuels.

With a strong enthusiasm for artificial intelligence, Jejomar eagerly joins the team to contribute his expertise and bring AI into the realms of petrography and geosciences.
